The 8 HYROX Stations, Explained

Eight stations, always in the same order, with a 1km run before each. This is the complete station reference: official loads for every division, the technique cue that matters, the faults that cost time, and how each station fits into your race.

Race order: 1km run → SkiErg → 1km run → Sled Push → 1km run → Sled Pull → 1km run → Burpee Broad Jumps → 1km run → Rowing → 1km run → Farmers Carry → 1km run → Sandbag Lunges → 1km run → Wall Balls → finish. Eight stations, a 1km run before each one.

How to use these pages

Each station page carries the official loads across divisions, a single coach's cue worth remembering under fatigue, the three or four faults we see cost the most time, and a pacing note grounded in how much of a typical finish that station actually takes. The runs are covered on their own page — they are nearly half your race.

These pages are written by Filippo Terzi, the athlete behind RoxDuo, currently training for HYROX Rome 2026 on the app he built. Every load and distance comes from the public 2025/26 season rules, not from memory.

Train it, don't just read it

RoxDuo builds an AI training plan to your race date, tracks a PB for every one of these stations, and — for doubles teams — plans who takes which station on the Team Sheet.

FAQ

How many stations are in HYROX?

Eight workout stations: SkiErg, Sled Push, Sled Pull, Burpee Broad Jumps, Rowing, Farmers Carry, Sandbag Lunges, and Wall Balls — always in that order, with a 1km run before every station (8×1km total). Some athletes count the run as a ninth discipline; officially it is the connective element.

Is the station order the same at every HYROX event?

Yes. The format is standardised worldwide — same eight stations, same order, same distances — which is why times are comparable between events and why a race-specific plan works anywhere.

Are the weights the same in doubles?

Doubles uses the loads of the corresponding division (Open or Pro), and partners split each station's work between them while running all 8km together. See each station page for the exact loads, and the doubles guide for split strategy.

What is the hardest HYROX station?

Most athletes name two: wall balls, because it comes last, is high-rep, and is judged when you are most fatigued, and the sled push, which produces the biggest heart-rate spike on the course and is the station first-timers most underestimate. But "hardest" depends on your build — heavier athletes tend to suffer most on the burpee broad jumps, while lighter athletes struggle more with the sleds.
